COVID-19 - Ballooning Canterbury

COVID-19 Alert Levels

What do they mean for us?

The government has announced that on December 3, the country will move into its COVID-19 Protection Framework or the traffic light system. Under the framework, businesses who only welcome vaccinated visitors can operate as freely as possible.
Ballooning Canterbury is adopting this framework to help keep our passengers and staff safe.

From December 3 (under traffic light green or orange) all passengers will be required to:

  1. Be double vaccinated (for those aged over 12) and must show a valid government ‘My Vaccine Pass’ on arrival the morning of the flight.
  2. Sanitise their hands and sign in using the NZ COVID Tracer App.
  3. Wear masks in all indoor areas and when travelling in our vehicles to/from the launch sites.
  4. Comply with any additional public health measures (including social distancing) that are in place at the time they visit.

We are unable to fly under traffic light red.

The wellbeing of our passengers and staff is our top priority and all our staff are fully vaccinated. Thank you for doing your part in helping us do this.

Buying a voucher as a gift for someone:

Please make sure the person you are buying the voucher for can comply with our COVID-19 requirements. Vouchers are valid for 12 months and are non-refundable.

What to do if you are unable to fly due to the new requirements:

If you have an existing booking with us, are affected by the framework and can no longer fly with us, we are happy to discuss a refund with you. (Conditions apply to vouchers)

Cancellation Policy:

A $100 per person cancellation fee applies if you cancel with 48 hours for small groups or within 7 days of flight for large groups.

If you cancel within 24 hours of the flight you forfeit the full fare. Cancellations must be made directly to Ballooning Canterbury.

If we cancel the flight due to weather or for safety reasons, a full refund will be given or you can change your booking to another date if space is available. (Conditions apply to flights booked via a voucher).

If you fail to provide a valid government ‘My Vaccine Pass’ the morning of flight, you will not be able to fly and you will forfeit the full fare.
